CTV BEST IN SHORTS

ABOUT THE COMPETITION
Cinéfest Sudbury International Film Festival, in partnership with CTV, hosts an annual film competition
for filmmakers from Northern Ontario to submit their work for a chance to have it screened to a film
festival audience, receive exposure within the film industry, and compete for a variety of cash prizes.

HOW IT WORKS
Filmmakers from across Northern Ontario submit their project(s) for review by a panel of judges
to determine which films will be moving forward to compete at the Finalists Screening.

AWARDS AND JUDGING
All submissions are judged on quality, originality, technical execution, and content. Narrative,
documentary, experimental, animation, and music video projects are all eligible for entry.

  • Open Category, First Place: $1,500
  • Open Category, Second Place: $750
  • NEW! Scholarship: $1,250 (awarded to a student enrolled in or intending to enroll in post-secondary studies)
