Cinefest Sudbury Vaccine Policy (Updated September 3, 2021)

In response to the Government of Ontario’s announcement on the afternoon of Wednesday, September 1, and in order to ensure a consistent Festival experience in its entirety for patrons, Cinefest Sudbury will require audiences attending the festival in person from September 18 – 26 to be fully vaccinated (two doses plus 14 days) and provide their proof of vaccination along with photo ID.

In order to comply with these guidelines, festival attendees will need to present their vaccine receipts (paper copy or PDF copy on a mobile device) and photo ID upon arriving at SilverCity Sudbury.

If individuals do not have access to receipts provided at the time of vaccination, they can obtain proof of immunization by downloading or printing their vaccine receipt from the provincial booking portal (https://covid19.ontariohealth.ca) or by calling the Provincial Vaccine Booking Line at 1-833-943-3900. People with red-and-white health cards can call the vaccine booking line to get a copy of their receipt. Cinefest staff will also be available to speak with patrons on how to access their vaccine receipts if assistance is required.

Attendees must present the receipt alongside government-issued photo identification, which will be visually verified by festival staff or volunteers. These documents must be presented when entering the establishment – they cannot be pre-displayed in advance of entering. Individuals who cannot receive the vaccine due to medical exemptions will be permitted entry with a doctor’s note.

For patrons who have purchased tickets and cannot attend under the new guidelines, Cinefest will offer virtual tickets in lieu of physical, or full refunds if exchanges are not preferred or possible. Ticket holders looking for an exchange or refund can contact Cinefest at 705-688-1234 to explore these options beginning Wednesday, September 8th.

Cinefest Sudbury understands that the situation surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic is rapidly changing, and will continue to follow federal and provincial health and safety guidelines, along with the health and safety guidelines of the screening venue. Cinefest will continue to inform patrons of any updates or changes to these guidelines.
